Important dates

Agreement start date: 1 August 2017

Agreement end date: 31 July 2020

Invoice Date: In years subsequent to the initial invoice Institutions will be invoiced three months in advance of the anniversary date of the Agreement, on 1 May

Single year commitments will renew automatically UNLESS cancellation notice has been given before 1 May.

VAT

From 1 May 2020:

• Zero rate VAT applies to APA PsycBooks
• Standard rate applies to Service Provision from all providers

Commitment Period

This Agreement is of 3 years duration. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period. They will then be committed to the end of the Agreement Period unless they have taken a single year commitment AND provided appropriate cancellation notice.

Eligible Institutions

Universities, colleges and other learning, educational and research bodies in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Other organisations aligned with Jisc’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Chest will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.

PsycBOOKS is an extensive collection of peer-reviewed books that provides students, researchers, and educators access to high-quality publications in psychology and related fields. PsycBOOKS includes the newest scholarly and professional books published by APA including reference works from the APA Handbooks in Psychology® Series that delve deep into specific subfields within psychology.

PsycBOOKS® is a full-text database that provides access to APA’s 4,372 scholarly titles (65,099 chapters) within psychology and its subfields. It includes recently published APA content along with an expansive backfile that includes classic works dating back to the 17^th century. Its relevance to the present day along with a comprehensive view of the past makes PsycBOOKS a crucial research tool for the behavioral sciences.

Updates

Frequency of data upload:

• APA PsycNET - twice weekly
• EBSCOHost - daily
• OVID - Data is loaded on to the Ovid servers according to the frequency of its supply by the APA
• ProQuest - Data updates are performed upon receipt of metadata from APA.
  There might be up to a 1-2 day lag period from receipt of the data to when the data appears on ProQuest platform, but usually content is updated as it comes in from the provider.

Alterations/Additions

All additions and new functionality will be incorporated at no additional charge.
