Important dates

Agreement start date: 1 August 2017

Agreement end date: 31 July 2020

Subsequent years invoice date: three months in advance of the anniversary date of the Agreement, on 1 May 2018 and 1 May 2019. 

VAT

From 1 May 2020:

• Standard rate VAT applies to APA PsycExtra
• Standard rate applies to Service Provision from all providers

Licence type

Site licence with Chest APA Licence Terms and Conditions.

Commitment Period

This Agreement is of 3 years duration. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period. They will then be committed to the end of the Agreement Period unless they have taken a single year commitment and provided appropriate cancellation notice.

Eligible Institutions

Universities, colleges and other learning, educational and research bodies in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Other organisations aligned with Jisc’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Chest will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.

Discover the latest conference proceedings, newsletters, reports, patient-oriented factsheets and brochures, magazines, monographs, standards and guidelines, and more.

PsycEXTRA® is a gray literature database that provides access to current sources for cutting-edge research and information before or outside of the peer review process. Almost 327,000 Bibliographic and full-text records are available for document types such as conference papers, grant information, policy statements, consumer brochures, newsletters, pamphlets, patient education materials, and more. PsycEXTRA provides extensive coverage of psychology and interrelated fields. With 70% or more being full text and nearly 30,000 records added yearly, PsycEXTRA is a tremendous value for libraries interested in obtaining useful and unique content for their collections.

There is no overlap records with PsycINFO.

Updates

Frequency of data upload:

• APA PsycNET - twice weekly
• EBSCOHost - daily
• OVID - Data is loaded on to the Ovid servers according to the frequency of its supply by the APA
• ProQuest - Data updates are performed upon receipt of metadata from APA.
  There might be up to a 1-2 day lag period from receipt of the data to when the data appears on ProQuest platform, but usually content is updated as it comes in from the provider.

Alterations/Additions

All additions and new functionality will be incorporated at no additional charge.
