Concurrent user licence (1,000 per institution).

Commitment Period

This Agreement has been renewed until 31 October 2019 following the previous period. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period. They will then be committed to one or two years from the date of issue of the Licence even if this means the Licence will expire some time after the Agreement has ended.

Eligible Institutions

Higher and Further Education and Research Councils in the United Kingdom, and to Universities and Colleges of Further Education in the Republic of Ireland.

Other organisations aligned with Jisc’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Chest will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.

Product Description

Hoover’s Online is a web based tool aimed at those who need insight on industries, companies and the people that lead them. It combines D&B data from their Global Database as well as Hoover’s content and data from other sources to deliver a number of features which deliver real value.
Hoover’s Online includes the following features:

• Users can access the full D&B universe of over 212 million organisations, from the search function. Records that are flagged as OB are out of business records, non-marketable are those where D&B do not hold enough information to be deemed marketable, whilst everything else are classified as marketable records.
• Users can upload up to 1,000 DUNS for setting up company alerts 
• Link directly to company-sponsored blogs and social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube) 
• Individuals can setup a default to show key financials in their preferred currency. Initially showing in the Key Financials and Competitors sections on the Company Overview page, they have the option to display US Dollars, British Pounds, Canadian Dollars, Euros, Japanese Yen, and Swedish Krona.
• Interactive graphs and charts allow users to quickly see and understand company trends and compare with competitors
• Downloadable Family Tree (corporate linkage) – Includes OB and non marketable records 
• New functionality – Notes and Tags (mini CRM) to personalise Hoover’s company records for your workflow 
• News Sources – increased to 5,000 sources, 250 company watch lists and now includes monitoring company websites 
• My Contact page
• More than 800 new granular job functions 
• UK financials from companies house - Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Income Statements from Companies House are now included in Hoover’s Online 
• Telephone numbers that are TPS/CTPS registered are now displayed 
• Financial information involves 5 to 10 years of historical information including Key Financials, Stoke Quotes and Earning estimate graphs. 
• Competitor Information. 
• Ability to search for Companies or Build Lists.

Technical Support

Hoovers has a support centre online that is fully accessible for the users, once logged in, which contains Frequently Asked Questions, a Glossary and Product Overview as well as Webinars and Podcasts.

During office hours 8.30am to 5.30pm Mon to Fri users can also contact customer support on 0845 145 1700. Customer Support can also be emailed as well. The response time to emailed enquiries is normally within 24 hours.
