Licences last for one year, 6 Months or 3 Months from purchase.

Eligible Institutions

Higher and Further Education and Research Councils in the United Kingdom, and to Universities and Colleges of Further Education in the Republic of Ireland. Other organisations supporting education, including research bodies and the public sector, may ask to participate in the Agreement. Chest will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.

How is the Eduface AI model trained?

The AI model is a stand alone model, so not an API from OpenAI, Anthropic or other foundation models. Eduface created a database of academic papers, peer reviewed articles and publications that have trained the model on industry specific knowledge.

Besides industry specific knowledge Eduface is trained to give feedback and grade just as real professors and teaching assistants would do. The model knows all the relevant scientifi c papers about how to structure feedback most effectively to students to create the optimal learning experience. From the ground up the model is built on educational research from leading journals in pedagogy and learning science. Its feedback approach is grounded in evidence on how students best learn from formative feedback.”

The platform is fully UK GDPR-compliant and built to meet the highest standards of data security in education. Eduface runs on a proprietary AI model, with no reliance on third-party services like OpenAI or Anthropic — ensuring that data is processed within a tightly controlled, secure environment.

Documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, and strict access controls are in place. Institutions retain full visibility and control over how their data is handled.

Above all, Eduface is a tool for human-led teaching. The teacher is always in charge. Feedback suggestions can be reviewed, edited, and approved.
